Tulipa Maggie Daley Blooms Again in 2011

"Tulipa Maggie Daley"
In the spring of 2006, Chicago’s First Lady Maggie Daley was presented with “Tulipa Maggie Daley,” a tulip created and named in her honor. Mrs. Daley was the first United States Mayor’s wife to receive such a distinction, and 2010 marked the debut of her tulip on The Magnificent Mile. “Tulipa Maggie Daley” bloomed exclusively on The Magnificent Mile in three locations in spring of 2010.
In 2011, this special tulip will once again adorn the Avenue as it fills the planter boxes at 700 N. Michigan Avenue. Don’t miss this elegant, pink flowering lady!
“Tulipa Maggie Daley,” which took 12 years to create, is a cross between a pink and lily flowering tulip.
